The Event
The Malta Vets Rugby Tournament has been established in 2004 by Sundreams Travel in collaboration with the MRFU and has been running since then successfully every year. We have hosted many teams from all over Europe and have made so new many friends in process.
Malta is a great place for a rugby tour, having ideal weather, good facilities, a growing rugby family and of course a lot of entertainment all offered in a safe and unique setting of the bustling sea side town of St Julian’s, where all teams stay.
The event normally starts with a social gathering which includes food and 3 pints for all the teams to break the ice and set the right mood. The tournament normally happens on the Saturday with shortened games (10 minutes each way) played in 15s format. Normally each team plays between 3 to 5 games during this afternoon. An on pitch presentation follows with the custom 3rd half of course with some local grub for all participants.
In the evening transport will pick up all the teams and and drop them off at a local attraction where we will provide a short tour, after the tour we will be transferring you to the warm up venue at which you have food and 3 pints included and after all teams hit St Julian’s in fancy dress and rugby gentlemen in their creative costumes become the celebrities of Malta’s night life quarter for one night. Sunday is usually activity day where some teams choose a boat trip, others an excursion, fish lunch or a watersport party, all organised by our experienced team.
